So what is Adventure Time?

Adventure time is a kids television show that is purely about exploration, creation and imagination. Me and my best friend Luke have idolised the show for years, and because of that I thought it would be a perfect gift to make an 'Adventure Time' inspired poster for his 21st Birthday.

To start off, I tried to imagine the two of us in this cartoon world. By simply referring to online images, I grasped a sense of what we may look like in the land of Adventure Time.

I was happy with the characters, now I needed to transfer them onto adobe illustrator, create a title and also a background to place the characters in front of. This process took me hours and hours of tedious tracing, highlighting and more, but the end result was definitely worth it. I decided to go with the name 'Dave's Place' because when Luke and I were younger we would tell our parents we were going to Dave's place, but instead go off on our own adventure (which I thought is a fun and relevant title). The background itself is a complete replica of the Adventure Time land, with the tree house; all the way to the ice mountains. This is the finished product :
