quick brief 3

For this quick brief the main idea that TAC wanted to get across to audiences was that 'there are better things to do than to die on our roads'. For the campaign I decided that a video commercial would be best and get the idea across the clearest, here is that script :

 

TELEVISION COMMERCIAL SCRIPT :

​

(Soft calming music is playing throughout)

 

Scene 1 

 

little boy (Jonathan) is receiving his graduation certificate wearing a bowtie. 

Parents waves at him very proudly.

(Focusing on the dad’s happiness)

 

Narrator : This is Jonathan. 

 

                Jonathan is just graduating from primary school

 

                mum and dad can’t believe he is going to high school, nice choice of outfit mum

 

 

Scene 2

 

Young boy (Jonathan) and young girl leave the house to go on a date

Mum leans in a kisses the boy on the cheeck, boy wipes it off

Parents are in the door frame holding each other, smiling and waving

(Focusing on the dad’s happiness)

 

Narrator : Ahh, the first date. Jonathan is growing up so fast, just look at that nervous smile 

 

                Ewww mum please not in front of Rachel 

 

 

Scene 3 

 

Young man (jonathan) is seen driving into and parking at vic roads with instructor

Parents are sitting in a waiting room looking nervous 

Young man (jonathan) rushes through the door in triumph

Mum and dad rush to him and they celebrate

(Focusing on the dad’s happiness)

 

Narrator : Jonathan is going for his drivers license today

 

                And it seems all those hours of yelling and lecturing have paid of

 

                Road trips here we come

 

 

Scene 4

​

Man (Jonathan) putting his tie on in front of the mirror

Father comes up behind him and fixes his collar

both turn and look at each other, then share a hug

-

father then steps back and the camera quickly zooms into his eye

​

Narrator : The big day. The day we all dream of from a young age, Jonathan is now getting married. 

​

               There you go, thats better (fixed up collar)

​

               A very proud father... and to think that this all could have been a reality (zoom)

​

​

Scene 5

​

a close up of the fathers eye, and inside the eye is all the scenes being rewinded super fast (5 seconds)

​

Scene 6

​

Camera zooms out of the fathers eye, and the father is in a suit at Jonathan's funeral (Jonathan is the young boy from the start) crying and looking at a picture of jonathan.

​

Narrator : There's more to do than die on our roads

​
